Course Overview:

This course is designed to prepare you to take the LEED Green Associate Exam v4. You will learn about the history of LEED, core topics related to the program and each area addressed on the exam. You will be given the opportunity to answer practice questions and review all topics that are part of the test. Successful completion of this course will have you on the path to not just take your LEED Green Associate exam but pass it as well. 

This course prepares the student to take the U.S. Green Building Council LEED Green Associate v4 certification exam.

Course Outline:

Lesson 1: Becoming a LEED Green Associate and the Test Process

This lesson will help you better understand the steps to becoming a LEED Green Associate. You will review the history of the work done and the benefits of becoming certified. You will also go over the test process to ensure you are best prepared on exam day.

Lesson 2: LEED v4 Concepts, Themes and Overview

This lesson will review core concepts and themes related to the LEED Green Associate program. You will also get an overview of USGBC and LEED.

Lesson 3: Location and Transportation

This lesson will review location and transportation strategies as well as intents. You will also look at site development and health and livability.

Lesson 4: Sustainable Sites

This lesson will review sustainable sites and environmental impacts. You will explore topics such as rainwater, heat island and light pollution.

Lesson 5: Water Efficiency

This lesson will review innovative approaches to water conservation. You will study EPA acts as well as both indoor and outdoor water usage.

Lesson 6: Energy and Atmosphere

This lesson will focus on energy use. You will review topics like renewable energy, refrigeration management and energy demands.

Lesson 7: Materials and Resources

This lesson will review material and resources intent as well as strategies. You will discuss topics like waste management and material conservation.

Lesson 8: Indoor Environmental Quality

This lesson will review strategies to increase indoor environmental quality. Topics such as occupant comfort, lighting strategies, and acoustic performance will be covered.

Lesson 9: Innovation and Regional Priority

This lesson will discuss recent innovations as well as regional priority intent and strategies.

All necessary materials are included.

Certification(s):

This course prepares the student to take the U.S. Green Building Council LEED Green Associate v4 certification exam.
